Jess,tess and ladybug

Hello to all you dog lovers here are a few helpful hints and tips to help you enjoy your dog or puppy.
Do not buy a puppy as a present for another person without they consent and being sure that they can cope with it, the breed size and
sex of the dog must fit in with the owner,to find a responsible breeder speak to the breed society secretary, or take a visit to your local
Rspca centre there are often puppies brought in. do not be rushed into buying the first puppy you see, make sure you see them with
there mother, you can then get an idea what size the adult will grow to, do not buy the smallest of the litter it could have a problem, just
buy one puppy at a time two together are much more difficult to train. At 7 wks the puppy is ready to leave his or her mum, if you then
want a second dog wait until the puppy is approx 20mnths, the newcomer will be easier to train as he will follow the older dog. Take
your new puppy to the vet as soon as possible after you get it home, to get it checked over. Puppies from kennel club registered
breeders should come with 6wks free health insurance. proof of health insurance, a diet sheet, and some food that has been part of the
puppy`s diet. Book into your local training club kennel club approved. Socialisation, meeting people in the big scary world should be
gentle and calm, try to get him used to the car (a car harness is desirable) take him preferably to somewhere quite.
vaccinations start at around 6 wks and then annually. Do not worm or use flea treatment within three weeks of the vaccination
before or after, too many chemicals could affect its immune system.
Puppies should be wormed once a month in the first year then after every four months. Make sure that any young children respect the
puppy and do not over tire or pull the puppy about unnecessarily, do not allow puppy to be fed at the table, give a safe quite place for
him to sleep and retreat to when tired. A gentle massage and groom once a week helps stimulate circulation and bonding, short walks
little and often feeds all help the puppy to settle in, Good Luck Have Fun.
